MISCELLANEOUS MORBID SAINT INFO:
This is the original cover art for Spectrum of Death. I am not sure why they opted for the Eddie-like demon, which adorns the current release of Spectrum of Death. This cover looks much, much better. Perhaps the artist who painted it wanted too much $$ for it:
Before "Spectrum of Death" was released, the recording was released as a demo entitled “Lock Up Your Children”. Here is a photocopy of the original cover art for the original cassette-only demo release. The cover was drawn by Jay Visser’s sister, and were hand colored red and green by band members. This demo was limited to only about 200 copies, all of which sold quickly in Milwaukee, Sheboygan and surrounding areas in WI.
Here is the photo that accompanied the original release of the “Lock Up Your Children” demo tape. From left to right: Tony Paletti – bass/vocals, Jay Visser – guitar/vocals, Pat Lind – lead vocals, Lee Reynolds – drums/vocals, Jim Fergades – guitar/vocals
Here are some flyers from some of the more notable Morbid Saint shows. Metal Fest III in Milwaukee, WI was definitely one of the biggest shows ever performed by Morbid Saint, sharing the stage with such bands as Nuclear Assault (who used Morbid Saint’s Mesa Bookie stacks instead of their own amps), Death, Acrophet, Obituary, and Sick Of It All!
Here’s a ticket stub from what I thought was the most awesome concert ever performed by Morbid Saint: The Ultimate Revenge II Tour with Death and Dark Angel!
Here are some more flyers I had in this old scrapbook:
Here are some old photos of Morbid Saint playing at the “War On The Shore” in Manitowoc, WI (in I believe 1988). This is before “Lock Up Your Children” was recorded, and before Pat Lind (the vocalist on “Spectrum Of Death”) was in the band. The vocalist in the photos is Bob, who received credit on “Spectrum of Death” for lyrical content of “Damien”, “Scars” and “Crying for Death”. They didn’t bother to say his last name, just “Bob”. It’s been so long, I can’t remember his last name. Bob, if you are reading this, e-mail me so I can give you props.
UPDATE: I was just informed by Eric “Griffy” Greif, the producer of “Spectrum of Death”, that the “singer who was briefly in the band before Pat was Bob Sinjakovic (I think he used various stage names such as Bobby Starr and Bob Sinja also).” Thanks for that clarification Eric!
This is a copy of an interview with Morbid Saint that appeared in Razorwire News fanzine in 1990. The interview took place during Metal Fest III at The Rave in Milwaukee, WI shortly after the release of “Spectrum Of Death”.
I have received several e-mail messages from fans asking about any additional video or music recordings by the band. I am not aware of any video footage of the band, but I do know that Morbid Saint recorded an 8-song LP entitled “Destruction System” in 1992. Thanks to MetalBrain for the info and for giving me a chance to hear this recording. For more info on “Destruction System” click here
UPDATE: I have just been informed that there is a video of Morbid Saint playing live at Metal Fest III in 1989 on Google’s video site. To see this video click here
